The sales of real estates to foreigners reached 22.991 in 2015. The Iraqis bought 4.228 properties in Turkey and leads residential property market. They were followed by Saudis, Kuwaitis and Russians with 2704, 2130, 2036, respectively.

Experts, who evaluated the property purchases by Iraqi citizens among the sales of real estates to foreigners, are saying that Iraqis, who are trying to get away from war, see Turkey as a port of safety, and therefore, Iraqi citizens who have money are preferring to buy from Turkey.

Acording to the Turkish Statistics Authority 7493 properties were sold in Istanbul in 2015. This is the highest purchase  amount all around Turkey. Istanbul was followed by Antalya and Bursa with 6072,1501 respectively.
